Deputy Director of Economics

Responsibilities:
- Deep dive into business and operational matters; generating and driving cross-functional initiatives at the intersection of Economics and functional areas
- Developing methodologies and calculators to evaluate the effectiveness of management decisions and transfer prices for raw materials in petrochemical processing
- Identifying efficiency improvement opportunities; developing and evaluating corresponding initiatives and calculating business cases;
- Analytical decision-support (economic modelling, scenario analysis, alternatives comparison, calculator development, etc.)
- Business planning and management reporting
- Developing an economics competency programme for adjacent functions
- Optimisation, automation, and digital transformation of business processes
- Managing projects of varying scale - from concept development through to presenting results at investment committees
- Oversight of consolidated reporting (dedicated function)
Requirements:
- Degree in Economics or Finance
- 5+ years of leadership experience in Economics / Finance functions
- Background in large industrial companies is a plus
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to build effective cross-functional relationships
- Deep knowledge of management accounting and economic analysis methods; ability to see the story behind the numbers
- Financial modelling skills
- Experience participating in strategic projects and efficiency improvement initiatives
